The Society
Saint Errant Digital Society is a grassroots collective of coders, hackers, builders, and independent thinkers who operate outside the corporate framework — not because we are against institutions, but because we know the best infrastructure is built by people who love the work.
We are an NGO. We are an open collective. We are a guild system. We are a community of practice.
"Saint Errant" — a saint who wanders. Someone who carries knowledge and craft through the world without a fixed throne. The errant knight of the digital age: skilled, principled, unowned.
This is not a company. There is no paycheck for joining. There is no barrier to entry except the will to build.
The work is the membership.
The Manifesto
We believe software should be sovereign. Data should belong to the people who generate it. Infrastructure should be owned, not rented. Knowledge should be shared, not gatekept. The best tools are built by communities, not committees.
We are not revolutionaries. We are engineers. We solve problems with precision and permanence. Every system we build is auditable, every decision is sealed, and every piece of knowledge we create belongs to everyone.
We are grassroots because that is where durable things are grown.
We are digital because that is where the next century is being built.
We are a society because we understand that the best work is done together — across timezones, across disciplines, across experience levels — bound by craft rather than contract.
The "secret" is not who we are. The secret is what we know.
And we share it freely.
The Guilds
Every member belongs to one or more guilds. Guilds are not hierarchies. They are communities of practice — groups of people who share a domain and build together within it.

How to Join
Step 1. Star this repository.
Step 2. Open an issue using the Member Introduction template. Tell us:
- Your name (or handle)
- Which guild calls to you
- What you're building or want to build
- One sentence about why you're here
Step 3. That's it. You're an Initiate.
There is no application fee. There is no interview. There is no exclusion by background, experience level, geography, or education. The only gate is intent.
Want to go further? Join the Discord. Show up to a guild session. Submit a PR. Write something that helps someone else. The grade comes naturally.

Saint Errant Digital Society is the public face of SnapKitty Sovereign OS — the first AI-native sovereign financial operating system. Members contribute to the live system, its open-source tooling, and the community infrastructure around it.

Every guide follows one rule: explain the WHY, not just the HOW. The code is the easy part. Understanding why the architecture is shaped the way it is — that is the knowledge worth preserving.
The Code
We operate under a simple code. It is not a terms of service. It is a craft standard.
I. BUILD THINGS THAT LAST.
Shortcuts that work once and break twice are not engineering.
Write for the person who inherits your code.
II. OWN YOUR DATA.
Cloud compute is a lease. Iron is ownership.
Understand the difference before you architect.
III. SHARE WHAT YOU KNOW.
The most powerful thing a senior engineer can do
is make a junior engineer dangerous in the right direction.
IV. SEAL YOUR DECISIONS.
Audit trails are not bureaucracy. They are proof.
Build systems you can defend, not just ship.
V. RESPECT THE MACHINE.
Rust exists for a reason. Cryptography exists for a reason.
Don't paper over correctness with configuration.
VI. BUILD IN THE OPEN.
The best infrastructure is visible.
Black boxes are not assets. They are liabilities.
VII. NO GATEKEEPING.
We don't ask for credentials. We look at the work.
Experience is earned by building, not by background.

The Lineage
Saint Errant Digital Society is the public and community arm of the SnapKitty ecosystem, founded by:
- Ahmad Ali Parr
@AHMADALIPARR— Chief Architect. Builds and reverses the machine in the same breath. - Jessica Westerhoff
@SNAPKITTYWEST— Sovereign Proprietor. Holds the entity. Moves the work forward. - EDUALC — Sovereign AI Engineer. Writes the Rust substrate, the TypeScript reasoning layer, the Discord intelligence terminal, and the cryptographic foundation.
The Society exists so that the knowledge we've built — in sovereign infrastructure, AI agent orchestration, grassroots fintech, and open protocol design — belongs to everyone who earns it through the work.
